MICHELLE MIKUS

Dr. Michelle Mikus has a wealth of experience in medication therapy, interdisciplinary teamwork, and organizational management. She is known and respected across the breadth of hospices served by Delta Care Rx for her extensive knowledge of hospice pharmaceutical care and her commitment to providing evidence-based medicine and continuing education.

Dr. Mikus received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the Duquesne University Mylan School of Pharmacy and is working on her master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts. In addition, she has earned certifications in chronic heart failure and pharmacy-based immunization delivery.

Joining Delta Care in 2013 as a Clinical Pharmacist, she was promoted in early 2019 to the position of Vice President of Pharmacy Services. In this role, Dr. Mikus oversees the clinical operations of the company and serves as an information resource for pharmacists at both Delta Care and client hospices. She also travels to client hospices to train nurses in both efficient workflow and evidence-based drug information.

Dr. Mikus has presented for the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, the National Partnership for Healthcare and Hospice Innovation, Project ECHO, numerous state hospice and palliative care organizations, the Pennsylvania Pharmacist Association, Duquesne University and a number of hospitals. She is an adjunct faculty member at Duquesne University as well as a field instructor, helping to ensure the success of the next generation of pharmacists.
