delta campus

Delta Care Rx provides an extensive offering of training and educational activities for your hospice.  Our industry leading educational resources provide evidence-based tools to ensure optimal patient care.  We provide a comprehensive list of clinical resources specifically designed for the hospice industry.

Monthly Brainy Brunch
We offer a monthly online webinar on a current topic for hospice practitioners. Nurses can obtain 1 CE credit for listening to a live or recorded webinar and completing a post-test via the e-Tools portal.

Online Blog Rx
We offer online articles that contain topics relevant to end of life care written by our own hospice clinical pharmacists. Subscribe to the blog to ensure that you are getting the latest article.

Algorithms for Managing Pain and Symptoms (AMPS)
We provide algorithms for optimal medication utilization for common symptoms experienced at end of life. Our algorithms are continually updated to keep up with changing literature and drug pricing. AMPS are available to clients via our e-Tools suite.

Patient Information Leaflets (PILS)
We offer patient medications information leaflets that are written by Delta pharmacists with respect to applicable use in EOL care. Patients are used to receiving similar information handouts from their local pharmacy provider, but at times, it does not accurately address how a medication is being used in the hospice setting. For example, a medication handout from the pharmacy will tell a patient to not use atropine ophthalmic by mouth, but we often use this medication in hospice sublingually for terminal secretions.

LexiComp Online Medication Database
LexiComp is one of the largest online medication subscription databases. Delta Care Rx clients enjoy access to this resource via our e-Tools suite.

Overview of Pain and Symptom Management Video
We offer a 4 part video of Dr. Mary Mihalyo lecturing on pain and symptom management that can be viewed by our hospice clients on-demand. This video is perfect for a new hospice nurse or could be used as an annual competency for your current staff. CE credit can be offered for this educational activity.

Pediatric Pain and Symptom Management Guidelines
We offer a booklet to guide in the symptom management of children and a tool for identifying areas of self-study.
